This work is a material design research project focused on upcycling textiles into a secondary raw material. By experimenting with sculpting and compressing layers of fabric, I explored how discarded textiles can take on new structures, textures, and appearances.
The result is a durable, soft-surfaced material that can be used decoratively by designers and makers.
Different compositions of textiles within a solid form led to a range of colors and patterns, rethinking the potential of textile waste.
